Happy New Year!
52 weeks ago, I began writing weekly notes of thankfulness. To hold myself accountable, I also posted the notes on this blog. Although I'd often thought about writing notes, I was never motivated to take action. It took the unexpected death of a wonderful man to begin composing my thoughts.
During the year long process, an awareness of how family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and acquaintances touch my life, increased exponentially. As I wrote the notes, I struggled to find the right words, and it was difficult to convey my thoughts accurately. Humorous memories made me chuckle. Remembering acts of kindness and caring touched my heart. Choosing the "perfect photograph" on the thank you card held importance, too.
Most of all, I learned that I need to continue writing notes. 52 weeks wasn't long enough to share my gratitude with others. Although the notes will no longer be posted to this blog, you can be assured my writing will continue.
I challenge you to begin writing notes of thankfulness, too. Add a short message in the comment box below if you decide to do so. I'd love to hear from you.
2017 may be just the time to start!
