Our daughter, Sarah, and son-in-law stayed with us last week during the days nestled between two family weddings: our son and new daughter-in-law's wedding on June 4th and our niece and new husband's wedding on June 10th. My mind was full of thoughts about these three wonderful young women and how thankful I am to have them all in our family.
A dear friend's daughter will be married this coming weekend, so again, my thoughts have turned to the relationships between mothers and daughters. This particular friend has been closely tied to my daughter and me since before Sarah was even born, so this week's note is written to Cindy.
Dear Cindy,
As Tara's wedding approaches, I am reminded of the ties that exist between you, me, and our daughters. As I mentioned at Tara's shower, she and Sarah can share memories of mothers who wore the same brightly colored, polyester maternity tops, even though we are no where near the same size!
There are truly no words to convey how much your encouragement and support of Sarah during her years in FCCLA mean to us. Her success was a reflection of your commitment to the organization and your dedication to helping students achieve more than they thought was possible.
Daughters are treasured, weddings are unforgettable, and friends are priceless.
Gratefully,
Jill
